The state's most populous county has successfully transitioned into a new online court case management system.

The county says it launched on Monday with iCourt.

“iCourt allows the Ada County Courthouse to be more integrated than ever before,” said Phil McGrane, Ada County chief deputy clerk. “Clerks no longer need to track down paper files; everything is available electronically from their computers. And as soon as information about a case is entered into the system, it is available for the public to see.”

Twin Falls County was the first to use iCourt. Eventually, all 44 counties will move to the new system.

With the launch of iCourt, the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office, the Ada County Public Defender’s Office and attorneys for the City of Boise are now filing all criminal cases electronically.

Over the next two months, e-filing will be phased in for all case filings. By Oct. 3, e-filing by attorneys will be mandatory for all cases.
