JEOPARDY! fans slammed Joe Buck as "TERRIBLE" and "annoying."
The sportscaster made his debut as guest host during Monday's episode of the popular game show.
Just minutes into the show's latest episode, viewers took to Twitter to slam Joe for his hosting skills.
One fan wrote: "Joe Buck is terrible."
Another added: "Ugh I expected not to like Joe Buck as #Jeopardy host but this is beyond awful! STOP YELLING, dude!"
A third chimed in: "Having Joe Buck the super jock supporter on board in the midst of a soulless 'champion', whom he refers to as a 'hero' on the first question, is possibly the worst look #Jeopardy has ever had. F**k this."
While one added: "Why #Jeopardy why? Joe Buck is AWFUL. He's best watched on mute."
The backlash continued, as another person commented: "Don’t quit your day job, Joe. (I’m NOT a fan of his delivery.)"
'RUINS EVERYTHING!'
Others slammed Joe for not only his guest hosting role, but also his daytime job.
A critic commented: "Joe Buck ruins everything! First he ruins baseball, now he ruins #Jeopardy. WTF."
James Holzhauer- who is a fan favorite contestant that's best known for his 32-game winning streak as champion on Jeopardy!- also made it clear he's not a fan of Joe.
While taking to Twitter, James wrote: "Jeopardy says whoever hosts full time will have to quit their other job, so I’m crossing my fingers it’s Joe Buck."
GETTING TO KNOW JOE
The 52-year-old’s appearance on the iconic game show is particularly important, as he is the last guest host before producers announce the new permanent host.
Joe is best known for his work as a sportscaster for Fox Sports and has been with the company since 1996.
At Fox, Joe leads play-by-play announcing for the network's NFL and MLB coverage.
FINDING ALEX'S REPLACEMENT
It was reported last week that Jeopardy! producer Mike Richards is "in advanced negotiations to host” the hit show.
Mike, who has served as an executive producer since 2020, would take over longtime host Alex Trebek's spot as host following his tragic death.
Alex served as the host of Jeopardy! for 36 years and continued his role on the show right up to his death in November 2020.
He first shared news of his pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March 2019, while Alex tragically died of the illness in November at age 80.
Before Joe's role as guest host, Ken Jennings, Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, Bill Whitaker, Mayim Bialik, Anderson Cooper, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Savannah Guthrie, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Robin Roberts and Reading Rainbow’s LeVar Burton were among the stars to fill in for Alex.
